1. While the standard size guideline
is 1 x 6 x 16, wood can vary in size from ¾-7/8” x
5-3/4 to 5-7/8” x 16. In rare cases, very old wood
can be ½” thick but this wood is not sold unless
CWI has prior approval from the customer.
2. Wood is 100% natural, aged only by the extreme elements of
Wyoming weather
3. Moisture content is less than 10% as a result of the persistent
wind source in Wyoming
4. As a result of low moisture content, it is not necessary
to kiln dry the wood
5. The wood has not been painted, etc. so no wire brush finishing
is necessary
6. The wood is not and will not be treated with any form of
chemical; 100% natural
7. The wood is not milled in any manner at this time
8. Age of the wood can range from 5 to 15+ years
9. Although aged, the quality of the board is excellent
10. Primarily, CWI uses either Ponderosa or Lodgepole pine wood;
this raw cut wood is sourced from several suppliers in the Wyoming
Region
11. Cupping and Warping is minimal
12. Quality of the raw wood renders minimal knots
13. Delivered wood will not have bent-over nails. For an upcharge, CWI will remove all nails.
14. When harvested, boards are sawed from panel frames. Nails
will remain in board, although they "jostle" out frequently
during shipment
15. Currently, there are 6-9 nails per board
16. 6 or 8 penny finishing nails may be used to construct the
boards
17. Applications include: Siding, Paneling, Wainscoting, Accent
walls, Ceilings, Wine Cellars, Furniture
18. Wood can be packaged, ie. 100, 125 Boards per bundle
19. Wood is a blonde, gray color and depending on where it is
harvested, it can also have a gold-streak patina
20. While 16' length is standard, 4', 6', 8', 10' and 12' lengths are also available. |
